Best in 125cc segment!

Hi All,

Good day!

For me going for a bike was mainly for fun riding and not as a commuter. However I was looking for a bike which won’t cause a big hole in my pocket and same time should give me good performance and should be fun to ride. Also my uses will be pretty less as most of the time I will be driving my car.

Earlier I was using Suzuki Zeus, which was a real wonder. I sold it after riding it for 5 trouble free years and bought YAMAHA SS125 after reading the reviews in mouthshut. Rs62000 on-road, Bangalore.

So here is my feedback:

The things you will surely like about:*

1.       The power in a 125 segment, you will love the engine sound.

2.       The electric start, hassle free.

3.       Engine and gear shift, pretty smooth.

4.       Riding quality and handling.

5.       Great looks, mostly the back and side view of the bike. The front view is not so impressive though.

6.       Great suspension.

7.       Excellent brakes.

8.       A 13.6 liter capacity fuel tank and with a mileage of more than 50. So fill it and forget it!

The things you won’t like so much:*

1.       Low end torque, however you can still ride the bike below 30KM/h in 4th gear. Not so bad but would have been better!

2.       Starting problem in the morning, you need at least to 5 to 6 kick with choke on. My earlier Suzuki needs only 1 or 2 even if you don’t use the bike for one or two weeks!

3.       With the sporty aluminum footrest, it’s not so comfortable for the pillion rider, quite small in size. Somewhat I feel the conventional rubber footrest would have been a better option! Look Vs convenience I would say!

4.       No under seat storage, to open the seat you have to remove two screws completely and you will need your tool kit for that. With the side panel(Battery Storage) you have some space to keep your tool kit and bike paper.

Verdict: *

If you can ignore the minor drawbacks as mentioned, I would say it’s a definite go for its segment. An unmatched power and performance for 125 segments with a refined engine!
