Went for the Yamaha YBR 125 as I wanted to upgrade from my 100 cc Hero Honda CD deluxe. CD deluxe was my first bike and I learnt to ride on it.
Its a nice bike if you dont want to ride above 60km/hr. The average in city conditions is around 55-60 km/litre of fuel.
Initially wanted to go for the SS 125 as I was completely bowled over by its dazzling looks. However Yamaha have discontinued this model for the moment. I read on the internet that the YBR 125 has similar engine to the SS 125 and has a higher fuel average.
So I decided to visit the Yamaha showroom. I was shown the red variant in the showroom and I had almost booked it. On second thoughts I decided to have a look at the black red combination. The black and red combination was so appealing that I went for it instantly.
So here I am the proud owner of a Yamaha YBR 125. I was reluctant to go in for Yamaha due to its poor image as far as fuel efficiency is concerned. For me fuel efficiency is one of the most important consideration.
But that image changed as I read reviews from others stating that I can get a decent average of at least 55km/l. Apart from that Yamaha are the best bikes to buy. I hope my decision is right.....
