Yatchan is a Tamil comedy thriller directed by Vishnuvardhan. The movie is written by Subha and the screenplay is written by Subha and Vishnuvardhan. The star cast of the movie includes Arya, Kreshna, Swati Reddy and Deepa Sannidhi.
The movie focuses on the life of the main characters Chinna who is from Thoothukudi and Karthik who is from Pazhani. Chinna is an orphan and small time goon and he is an ardent fan of actor Ajith Kumar. Karthik lives with his parents and his aim to become an actor. Chinna accidently kills a man and flees to Chennai. Karthik also moves to Chennai to fulfil his dream of becoming an actor. At some point of time, both of them meet and something really unexpected happens. What happens next forms the crux of the movie.
Vishnuvardhan is a director who is well known for his sleek and stylish making and execution. Here also we can see his talent as a director. He succeeded in executing a wafer thin plot with much perfection and style. But he need to concentrate on the content also rather than simply concentrating full on the making. Even though the story and screenplay is not very interesting, the small twists that happens at regular intervals of the movie helps the audience to watch the movie without yawning.
The technical side is very impressive including Om Prakash’s camera and Sreekar Prasad’s editing. Yuvan Shankar Raja is at his best when he is with Vishnuvardhan and once again he proves it with his songs and attractive background score. The melodies “Konjalai “and “Innum Enna” are really underrated and I still wonder why! The lead cast was really perfect and Kreshna did a notable performance. Arya was also good and stylish. When it comes to the female cast, Deepa Sannidhi overpowered Swathi with her charm and controlled performance. Adhil’s terrific and powerful performance as the villain is another plus point of the movie.
In short Yetchan is a paisa vasool entertainer which can be watched once without much expectation.
