Booking hotels thru yatra.com was easy. Getting the refund for the cancellation was a pain. When I called them up to cancel my bookings, they said they would do it. When I called them up again after a week to confirm whether my bookings were cancelled or not, they tell me that they don accept cancellation orders on the phone and that I need to email them the details.
Looks like their employees are ignorant about the companys functioning. So I immediately send a mail with the details of my bookings, requesting them to cancel it. I receive a reply saying that I would be charged 200 rupees as yatra fees and the remaining amount would be credited to my credit card in 15-20 days. I wait .. and wait .. nothing happens, so one fine day I call them up and ask for the status.
They tell me stories about how Citibank is causing the delay in routing the money and stuff. I am asked to wait for another week. As expected, nothing happens. So I call them up and they again promise me to do it within a week. In 3-4 days I see a credit transaction in my account. Hurray, finally the money has come ! .. but wait .. thats not the amount promised to me in the email that I received from them ? What the heck ?? So I call them up again. Now they tell me that the person who promised me the refund amount has left the organization without informing the ppl about the cancellation and that the hotel itself has charged me one nights retention !! I express my displeasure and I am offered a cookie ! a 500 rupees gift voucher which I can redeem when I transact with them again .. wow !! Do they think ppl are fools ?
All in all, avoid yatra.com at ALL COSTS !
