Please beware when you are cancelling your tickets on Yatra.com. The booking part is very simple to complete but if u unfortunately have to cancel a ticket and get the refund on the same, its going to be headache mates.
Firstly the booking can be done online but not the cancellation. You’ll have to call up Yatra.com, request for cancellation, send them the ticket and wait for 30 days to get the amount back. The logic I don’t understand here is they confirm the ticket as booked only after receiving the payment, which we make on the very first day of booking. If that process is as simple as 1-2 days, y do they require 30 days to refund it back? And the explanation from them is that it takes time to get the refund from airlines. Now that is not my headache as I am making the payment to Yatra.com and not the airlines, so they have the moral obligation to hand over my refund.
I had to pay the interest on an amount of Rs 6000 twice towards my credit card bill which yatra is never going to refund. Moreover these days the call takes atleast 4-5 minutes to connect, 10-12 minutes you will be put on hold, then they give u the assurance that they’ll get back, mail us.nothing of that sort will happen even after being on call for 20-30 minutes. And to know the status of the refund I have had to make 5-6 calls of the same duration in 1 day.
The other thing I want to highlight is when you cancel, they promise you over phone that it’ll not take more than 10-15 days for refund, whereas the mail will say 20-25 working days and the site says 30 . So again you are fooled.
So my take is .even if they offer 250-300 Rs discount, pls make sure that you travel, otherwise the interest on the credit card+ STD bill for multiple calls of 20 mins duration is gonna cost you more than the discount offered if you have cancelled the ticket.
