We had booked a holiday package from Yatra.com in December for our travel in the month of April 2017. It was meant to be a family holiday which was planned as a surprise for my Fathers 60th Birthday. We thought we had got a good deal from yatra.com for our holiday in Mussoorie for 5 nights and 6 days which included Return Flights, Hotel Stay, Transfers and Sightseeing on private basis but we were completely disappointed with what we got. Even after exchanging more than 35 mails for confirming the package and mentioning repeatedly that we are going on this for a special occasion with the entire family i.e. 7 adults of which 1 is a senior citizen and 2 children yatra still messed up the entire holiday for us. We wanted to book the Fortune Savoy Hotel in Mussoorie but since at that time the hotel was showing sold out we went as per the suggestion of Yatra.com and settled for Royal Orchid Fort which is located on the Picture Palace side of Mussoorie. We had booked the deluxe category rooms as per the suggestion of the customer service executive who also informed us that since it is not season in Mussoorie we would get and upgrade easily but this was not conveyed to the hotel. Also we were told that the hotel is an better option than Fortune Savoy at the same rate but this was not true at all. Although Royal Orchid Fort is located in a very ideal location a little away from the Mall Road, it is absolutely not worth staying. We were given rooms which were sort of away from the main property and there a fleet of stairs which led to the rooms allocated to us. This was a major put off not only because the rooms were dingy, stinking and suffocating but also because it was inconvenient for my grandmother to climb up and down the stairs . We requested the front desk staff to upgrade the rooms as was promised to us by Yatra.com executive but they had not received any such request from Yatra.com. However they told us that the hotel was completely booked for three nights so we could get the upgrade for only the first two nights which and the balance three nights we could retain only 1 out of the 2 upgraded rooms. The overall experience at the hotel was horrible and not worth the money spent but we thought we would make the most of it while sightseeing and enjoy that. We were shocked to know that half of the sightseeing mentioned in the itinerary was not doable since our vehicle could not travel on those roads and some of the places mentioned in the sightseeing were not known to the bus driver or locals of Mussoorie. At this point we felt like we have literally been robbed of our money. All we did out of the actual itinerary was see the Company baug and Dhanaulti(Which we opted to do by ourselves since that was the only place the vehicle could take us to) the remaining places could not be accessed by the bus or involved too much of walking which again was not possible for my grandmother. The Yatra.com team has a great lacuna in their internal communication, what you discuss with one executive is never known to the other so you feel lost and have to start all over again. I will never use yatra.com again or recommend anyone to use the same for their bookings.
