May 2015 was the first time when we booked our package tour through Yatra for Sikkim(9 days - 8 night). While making bookings the team was very prompt in following up with us for getting the booking done.
But we had very bad experiences with yatra during our trip. Listing few of them below
while booking I was told to have personal private vehicle. But the car and the driver changed daily
no coordination from yatra in terms of sending the travel guy on daily basis. We had to keep calling yatra / coordinator on daily basis trying to know what time will the car come. Also on calling the yatra helpdesk number, support executives had no clue. Helpdesk says they will call back and no calls in return. Calling up the helpdesk again makes us reach a new person all the time. this was really sick and painful
This was the worst we could see. We had been provided a travel confirmation voucher for the hotel "The Elgin" in Darjeeling for 2 nights. We checked in to the hotel. The night we were to check out, the hotel manager called upon telling the payment from the travel was not made and that we will have to bear the entire cost of stay. We called up yatra and they were not able to sort out the issue till we gave a firm shout about not making the payment at any cost. Later yatra confirmed us that they will make the refund of the amount and that we can proceed ahead making the payment. We made the payment and sent the receipt to yatra two days back. But we have received no confirmation or revert from Yatra still.
Driver had no clue of the plan for site seeing or the name of the next hotel we were landing
while booking the package we were told of innova being booked for us, but everyday a normal car was sent
We would never suggest planning the travel through Yatra. Would give zero rating for all the trouble we had faced. Yatra needs lot of improvement in terms of coordination and providing customer support
