Akira has got a lot of flak for not being really a feminist movie. Some have even claimed that the plot has a lot of holes. But for all its so called flaws, it is still a better option than YTTMHG this week. Jimmy Shergill does his best to maek this movie endurable. But Arbaaz Khan fails to be the dreaded gangster that he wants to portray.
I never had a lot of expectations from the story of the movie, but was hoping that the movie could give you a few laughs and keep you interested in the proceedings on the screen. This was ever a movie that you can think of taking seriously, but for all its simplicity it fails to be hilarious. Twin roles and ensuing confusion has a long history in Bollywood. The original Golmaal, Angoor and Govinda’s Ankhen to name a few. YTTMHG fails to create the confusion and the supporting cast doesn’t seem energised enough to keep you interested in the movie. It could give a few laughs if you insist on watching comedy only, but I wouldn’t raise your hopes too much !
