Well, there is too much hype surrounding the movie, but does this movie live up to its expectations? Lets see....
I dont always go to see the movie just by looking at the actors involved in the movie..I see its overall packaging of cast and crew alike...From the promos, we always knew what the story was all about, but I wanted to see how Ayaan Mukherjee(director of wake up sid) shows it up on the screen...well, the actors are perfectly cast. Boy...Ranbir is truly making a name for himself in the industry now....Deepika looks damn, stunning....and Kalki koechlin and Aditya roy kapoor give ample support to the acting department.
The cinematography is awesome...scenes from Manali and other destinations sure take it up to another level...Songs are icing on the cake...Dialogues are good but at times amateurish.....So, if a movie has so many good qualities then why isnt it getting rave reviews all around?..The main and most important drawback of the film is its screenplay(From beginning only I never expected anything new from its story, but I was atleast expecting freshness from the movie)...the first half seems fun but almost pointless and second half looks endless and boring(obviously minus the songs)....
Although I was expecting melodrama from the film, the last 25 minutes of the film are absolute drag...in short, the screenplay was average and because the editor has not done proper job, the whole film goes down on the graph....The editor makes the first half almost aimless(1 hr and 05 mins of t.p.) and second half a pain(1 hr and 35 mins of headache)...yet as a whole package, this film looks good and except story department, everything else forces you to give this movie at least one time watch....
