For this long weekend me and my wife decided to visit yelagiri since we wanted to run away from bangalore’s pollution and traffic.. YELAGIRI is the best place for the techies to relax..the drive was awesome, lush green, since it had rained just 2 days before we went.
As soon as we entered the Hill Station our first reaction was "Wow".... after so many says we found ourselves breathing OXYGEN. the climate was amazing nd we were surrounded by scenic beauty!
The biggest mistake we did was the stay at RAINBOW RESORT.. we were misguided by a review of this so called resort on this web site (which was written by the resort owner) and we planned to stay there. The resort charged us 1000 Rs per day excluding food... they assured us to give QUality service and home made food.. none of these was provided..the place was not worth staying..Extremely gaudy rooms, sofas with no covers and no springs, no trash cans, no toilet soaps, no food on time, no hot water in the bathroom...no place for children to play..hopeless ambience of the room... the food was not home made. we had to ask for lunch 10 times and moreover they charge 10Rs for tea at a place like Yelagiri....Moreover this so called resort is very much in outskirts..i will not recommend this place to anyone and especially for couple... coz the rooms provide No privacy.... the windows dont have proper locks... doors dont have laches and the boys giving service there dont have the manners to knock the door before they come inside.. u will find the boys working there continuously peeping inside ur rooms..probably this is what they call Quality service and they charge 10% extra for such kind of service and expect bulky tips as well.... Next day only we and a few couple staying at this resort checked out and moved to some cheaper and good resorts..
Those who plan to stay at yelagiri I would suggest HOTEL NIGRESS OR HOTEL MADHURA.... they will charge u 500-650 Rs per day.. great rooms, great ambience and QUALITY SERVICE in real sense....
Yelagiri is the cool and calm place to relax and breath oxygen.... Only thing u have to do is chose the right place to stay.... so that u dont waste ur vacation and money as well ... and Rainbow resort is not recommended!!!!!
