I just got back from an amazing 3 day weekend from Yelagiri hills to get away from the heat and dust from Chennai. I was looking for a home stay or something similar in Yelagiri hills, I have read most of the reviews here and I know some of them are not accurate so I want to justify somethings that are important for families like myself.
We are a family of 4, I have 2 little ones and am a very fussy mother and make sure every aspect of my holiday was covered.
I called up every possible number in Yelagiri to get a first hand information about the place other than what I have read and from the websites.
I called Mike from Le Auroville resort and he seemed to be frank and not over the top. He even sugested other better resorts than theirs, but I liked the fact that the resort is in the forest and away from the traffic and crowds, after many calls back and forth, He sent me a link to his place and I believe its a honest and truthful way to convince me and I promised to do my bit to help.
The place is really rustic. not too much as you would expect from a resort, there is a nice big lawn and lots of stone benches to sit on, The scenery is beautiful. you have to see for yourself. I would recomend this to anyone. we were provided with a bonfire in the night and was served by a guy called Keith. He is very polite and well mannered. We felt at home all the time.
