I had been to Yelagiri this 2008 Oct with my friends It was a great trip But the Place was average nothing great about it. You can say a very average hill station suited for one or two day trip at the max. The climate was very normal which one doesn’t expect in hill station.
Places to enjoy
1) Trekking(Uphill of around 4km) Take one or two water bootless u wont get anything
2) Lake( Good boating experience costs minimal)
3) Garden( With artificial water falls and musical fountain which starts after 7 pm)
4)Few other caves...
We stayed in hotel Mathura.. Decent hotel they arrange for camp fire and Music for groups to enjoy in evening..
Don’t expect a DJ.....
Food: Very lucky we got a good restaurant very small but good food at very economical rates. Just outside mathura hotel. Restaurant is small ambience is poor but quality and quantity food and affordable rates..
In all, you can enjoy the place if you’re in a group else nothing special about the place. Please go to yelagiri without expectation and you will be satisfied with your weekend trip. A place with minimal expense and great for college students/ Techies for enjoyment
