I have booked a cab(Booking#11) at 18:00 hrs on 23-Aug-2012 to Hyderabad International airport.Got the info abt the cab and driver details at 17:45.The driver started calling me and providing the excuse that he will be reaching in another 10 mins as he was stopped by a traffic police.Looks like the drivers are not qualified professionals.After 30 mins(18:15) calls me and says he is struck in traffic jam and asking me to provide suggestion.We repeated call him and tried to make an alternate arrangement, but no other cab service were able to provide the cab in next 30 mins.
Finally, the yellow taxi person reached my home at 19:00 hrs.Initial fare when booked was 800/-.But we have to take alternative route based on drivers input of traffic jam on regular route which would have reduced the distance.We have ended up paying additional 170/- tried hard to reach the destination at high speed, which was not safe.Later when I check with a neighbour who reached home in the regular route. In fact, there was no traffic jam.Normally in Hyd, these cab driver pickup the passengers for short distance on the route to actual passenger pickup.Its another way of making money.
My suggestion is, don’t ever but a cab with Yellow taxi.Better go for professional cabs services even though they are expensive.
