My Dad bought this bike in 1985. I started riding it in 1994. I still own this bike, though I have had 2 other bikes till now. I presently own a pulsar 180. The yezdi is a good bike, it doesnt have exceptional handling like the new bikes, nor does it have a great pik-up though its 250 cc 13bhp machine. It doesnt have a best ride quality though it is quite acceptable. It returns a mileage of 28-30 kmpl when ridden well and drops down to 25 kmpl when thrashed. Ergonomics arent great either. Reliability is bad come to think of the point ignition system. Headlight is weak just like a candle light! BUT...... I CANNOT b(i)tch about it further as this bike is like my baby. I love this bike for its quirks and tantrums. The bike hardly costs anything to mantain. It will run on kerosene also, if petrol aint available. The bike is TUFF. REALLY TUFF. will go through any abuse u put it through and will still live to tell the tale. The bike looks macho and has a good sound though not racy, like the yamahaRD or other yamaha 2strokes. but the bike sound slike a beast when revved hard. Belches smoke like nooness business 80-90 kmph+. will make u sweat when it doesnt start due to overflows. But basically the bike will keep u in shape, good forearms and nice strong thigh muscles are gauranteed! chicks do turn around and look at the bike at times, provided the bike is well matained and is shining with chrome. spares are very cheap. The bike is basically a very simple machine. Riding this bike evryday in traffic is a pain, but taking her out on a sunday with THE YEZDI AND JAWA OWNERS CLUB OF INDIA members is sumthing that needs to be experienced.
