Before 2 months I was like the every other Guy in town. I had a pulsar 180.like everyone I modified it and was going like hell. but just before 2 months I bought a used bike just for 3300RS . But after riding it I understood that it was the bike that differs men from boys.and the bike was as u can imagine is a yezdi.
I think yezdi was one of the best cruisers India ever produced. It got the best cruiser look, Twin silencer. A good 250 cc engine with a lot more torque than u imagine. It has a very high gear .so u can cruise under good speed without twisting too much throttle. My yezdi is a 86 cl II .i bought it from my cousin for 3300RS
Which is not quite a bad price since my bike got a very good engine and a very good paint job but since the papers were all expired we took the front wheel out and put it in our indica and brought home.
The yezdi like its name say got a good macho appearance and when compared to a bullet it a great looker .Its engine has great power but will take a little time to accelerate compared to the new generation bike but in high speed the bike is highly stable. I took the bike to around 100kmph.the bike is rock steady in good road but the bike bounces if the road is bumpy and that’s a bit scary if u r a new rider .but will later get used to it. At 100kmph the bike is steady but the handle vibrates to much .So I stopped accelerating . But I think the yezdi can take much higher speed than 100 .
If u ride is smooth it gives a good economy of around 30-35kmpl.but harsh ride the fuel efficiency will drop down to 20-25.
If u r a serious guy about power u can go for the road king.
But if u interested in engine rebuilding cl II is the best bike. Because if u bore the
Cylinder to 70mm from original 65 mm and put the road king piston the bike will have 290 cc and reduce the clearance ratio by grinding the cylinder head then u will definitely get more than18 -20 bhp which is much more than the road kings 16 bhp and will cost u only around 1000RS .I think that’s a better bet. But the main risk about it is if u grind the cylinder head more Then the head breaks because it is made of aluminum which has a very low breaking stress.my original one broke and got another one only after too weeks searching. so when u do these kinds of work try to do it care fully. It is safe to grind around 5mm from head .
You can safely put 120/16-inch tyres into u r existing rim with out much modification. Only thing is u have to do is to remove the chain cover. but it definitely add the the look and improves the ride and grip of the bike .
Initially I had problems with starting the bike .I used to kick start the bike for around 5 to 10 minutes but it was later only I get the technique . Now it starts at a single kick even at cold start. But u have to make sure that that the petrol has reached the carburettor.and must do the pumping with the kicker and then the bike will start at a single kick. There is a small needle in the carb .if u press it then the fuel will come down quickly . So if u do it then u can start the the bike much easily.
Most concerning thing about yezdi is that most of the bikes r bought by the traders
and they r dismantling the bike to get the frame and the engine for its aluminum .so after
5-10 years there will be very less yezdi available .so if u what one go and get it as soon as possible
