Fuel injected yezdi (jawa)

Was interesting to see so many people still driving the yezdi’s.  the engine is uncomplicated and has simple construction.it reminded me of my college project. for which we had bought an old jawa motorcycle.. disposed off with the carburettor. the engine is very simple to open up.. and we did this many times.. and everytime the engine would burst to life in the first kick....we added another sproket to the crankshat.. used this to drive a fuel pump.. chain belt drive..we used a discarded 3 cylinder tractor fuel injection pump....

Blocked 2 of the 3 pumps.. timed the fuel pump injection @ 20 deg. before piston tdc.. the cylinder head was drilled and tapped to accomodate a fule injection nozzle.. we used a small pre filter for the petrol..assembled the system..and voila.. the engine ran great.. this was for the purpose of demonstrating fuel injection in a 2-s SI engine.. but we did take short rides on the machine... it had great gusts of power...thanks to direct petrol injection in the cylinder...we tried for fun... retarding the fuel injection. ..

It was very happening to see.."blue and orange" flames leaving the exhaust pipe..... this was a great treat to watch... the engine withstood all our adventures , trials, different fuels (we used kerosene, diesel) to see the results (which werent very good)...wonder if we would have been sucessfull with any other engine.....
