My love for Yezdi bike started when I saw a Jawa-club review of this bike in NDTV 24x 7 some seven or eight years back. Only then I came to know about its existence. When I heard the Jawa fans take real hardship to keep this machine running I was attracted. Since then I started to notice this bike.
The price then was only 5k to 6k for this bike. But I was jobless. By the time I got a minimal job and and decided to own this, the prices have gone really sky high. More over good bikes were rare. As I had not that much money I decided to play patiently to find an average condition bike and restore it. As I started the hunt, I was received with mocking tone. I went to bike mechanics, I informed my friends and posted my requirement at OLX.in.
Since my budget was low I had to wait for six months as I got one response from Olx. There is an average condition bike used by four owners and the bike is available for 30k. This was in 2010. Though I felt the price is bit high for such a bike, I decided to grab it. And I got the bike in mar 2010.
On top of the bike, I felt I am the happiest man on earth as this was my long term dream. But my journey forward was not smooth. As I had only experience with 100 cc and bullet, the starting of Yezdi was tricky.I have a strong right foot. But kicking with left foot was real challenge. The bike needs rhythmic pumping to make it to start.
The first gear was blown as I have to make it move with second gear. The roaring of the bike gave me many rising eyebrows. The bike had serious starting troubles. I afraid to fill petrol because after that the bike wont normally start. Its electrical was poor as the head lamp was only illuminated like a kerosene lamp.
