Gone are the days of roaring master bikes and we live in a world of plastic toys called “Bikes”. Real men need steel, the rough iron that is made of heavy solid metal. Men are not provoked by silly boys who zoom past with their motorbikes. Yezdi roadking belongs to a rare genre. It is an old boy but, even today he is a force to reckon with…
I am proud of my Roadking, which I usually ride between the speeds of 50 to 60 km/hour. I don’t mind the “eighth wonder look” of people who see my bike. Some people mock, asking me from where I got this “antique”. Yes my bike is not resorted. But why should I? After 17 years the engine is strong though not so fast as it were but certainly smooth. It has just repainted for Fitness test leaving its chroming undone. But I love this beast.
It happened last day as I was just testing my bike after its service from a new mechanic. I found the bike smoother than the earlier and decided to enjoy a small stroll. I was riding slowly and enjoying the music of the exhaust. Suddenly a few guys came and started to irritate me by not giving side and trying to increase their speed. In a few minutes the highway saw a rare battle between an old veteran yezdi with new gen bike pulsar 180s.
Initially I lagged behind as usual. But in a matter of seconds Roadking came back and gave the pulsar it’s value for money. I steadily followed them and in less than two kms I was ahead of those bikes. I could saw their jaws following in disbelief. Age has not diminished it’s power. Finally I gave them a lesson that the “forever Bike” is even today a FORCE TO RECKON WITH!!!!
I LOVE YEZDI. IT’S A MASTERPIECE. It’ s a beauty!!!
Long live Yezdi…
