YLG Salons and Spas have opened all over Bangalore and as a regular parlour visitor I was initially very excited by their membership schemes. I signed up without really knowing much about the chain and was very pleased with their service for the first month and a half.Then things started going wrong.
The entire focus of the parlour on Cuningham Road ( and I suppose elsewhere) has changed to signing up new clients rather than servicing existing ones. Once you are hooked and have paid your money you are no longer a priority and are basically shoved around.
They rush through facials, do a half baked job of waxing and start fussing that unless you make appointments it is difficult to provide you the desired service. While they are telling you this a walk in customer who is potentially a new member for them is being escorted for a range of services. This got my blood boiling. I made my displeasure felt after 4-5 unpleasant experiences to the manager. I expected some sort of follow up and apology however none was forthcoming. I went one step further and spoke to the Area Manager who was extremely polite but has yet to take any action.
The catch 22 is that once you pay your money you are stuck and they know it. They then take you for granted and the quality of service diminishes. My advice to anyone out there is DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER. Pay for services as you use them. At least then you can be assured they will treat you like a guest rather than a pest.
