I stay in a small town spread across a radius of approx 15 km. I hence needed a handy two wheeler for a 40-50 km daily run. I was using a 4 stroke bike on which I would end up spending 1500-2000 per month on fuel and about the same amount once every 3-4 months on service.
I sold my bike and bought an Yo Electron by adding a few grands. Have been using it for over 6 months now and have been more than happy with the results. There are times when I feel that its slow on pickup and I miss overtaking others which I used to do, but there are very few such occasions which I come across in this mad city traffic.
The cost of running this is virtually zero as it comes added in the monthly household electricity bill, which hasn’t gone up too much. I probably end up spending Rs.100-120 additional on electricity each month due to this.
Not a bad deal at all!
