Sizzle this 2007 !

I recommend this place to all the sizzler fans across the world. This is the best place in India for Sizzlers. This time during my visit to Mumbai I was invited by my friend to this joint in Santa Cruz. The restaurant looked small from outside but it can accommodate up to 60 people. I found the ambience good although it should have been more spacious and cosy. There’s ample parking space outside. One has to reserve a table on weekends. There are people who wait for 3 hours to get inside - The reason? Well the food here is excellent. It’s a nice place to spot some hot looking Mumbai chicks n models. Quite a few actors and actresses visit this place.

As one enters the place one can hear the crackling sound of piping hot sizzlers with aromatic smoke all over. Yoko’s serve some of the best sizzlers in this country. The decoration around their dishes is excellent. You need to order everything at once so that you don’t have to wait for a long time for the second order.  The food is on the expensive side. I think they have hiked their prices this month. But it’s definitely worth trying once. This time we tried the Chicken Sizzler in Oyster Sauce (290 bucks) and Paneer Tikka Sizzler (240 bucks). Both were delicious. The veg sizzlers are served with lots more French fries and beans (What sins have the non-vegetarians commited that they get less?). One more recommended item is the Mutton Shaslik Sizzler (310 bucks). This will surely impress any mutton fan.  Try the sizzlers with extra grated cheese! You will thank me for sure.

This place also serves some splendid burgers and steaks. Try the chicken burger (90 bucks, served with pommes frites and salad) and the Mutton burger (100 bucks). Bombay is undoubtedly the food capital of India (apart from being the financial, glamour and commercial capital). There are several places which serve excellent burgers and steaks. Just name the cuisine and Bombay serves the best. This restaurant is no exception. The chicken steaks and beef steaks (although I hate red meat - 2 dangerous) at yoko’s are supposed to be the some of the best in India.

I tried the chicken steak in fried egg served with mayonnaise and mustard salad.  It was well made. I wish there was some chilled beer with the food. The fish sizzler (380 bucks) is a treat for all the fish lovers. An average meal for 2 would cost 600 bucks. The cost for a decent meal for people with a massive appetite like me ( I had a mutton shaslik, chicken steak and a chicken burger with french-fries with peach tea) would be from 1000 - 1250 for 2.

Have a nice time listening to the crackling sound and enjoying some good food at Yoko’s in 2007 - Guten Appetit ! May this year be a feast for you and your family!
