When we moved to our home in Kharadi, Pune, the two broadband options available in our society were You Broadband and Tata Teleservices. Since I didnt like my previous experience with Tata Teleservices, I chose You.
The issues started right from the time of installation. Info about some of the costs were not provided to me and they started showing when the installation was complete. I had to have broadband and most of the work was done. So, I complied.
I continued with You Broadband from Nov-18 to Jun-20, somehow. There has been scarce a day in these one and a half years when there wouldnt be a complaint - either with connectivity or with the speed. I didnt face issues during the day because most of the time I would be in office. However, for the large community of work from home individuals, You Broadband has been a nightmare.
COVID-19 hit us and I was also forced to work from home. Thankfully, the service held up. The moment I started going to office, the problems restarted and to the day I discontinued the service, the problems persisted.
In the meanwhile, we moved from cable to OTT services and the issues gained momentum. Blurry images and buffering became the order of the day.
It was evident that You Broadband didnt pay heed to our society because they knew we had no option. It was in June-20 that Airtel and Tata Sky Broadband entered our society and suddenly You moved into action. A senior member of You Broadband appeared in our WhatsApp group to show how serious the company is about its customers. But You has been reduced to a handful of connections(which will also get converted the moment people complete their existing tenure).
Typically, I would renew the service for 3 months and it would be optimistic saying I didnt donate less than a month of renewal charge to You without getting connectivity or speed. Its like serving the You Broadband community for free.
It is possible that You Broadband has better services everywhere but as far as Im concerned, it is a no-no forever. Only opt for You if you dont have options.
