Some 1u pass on street may be love of your life...

Joe:

You’re crazy about him.

Kathleen:

Yes. I am.

Joe:

Then why don’t you run off with him? What are you waiting for?

Kathleen:

I don’t actually know him.

Joe:* Really?

Kathleen: We only know each other - oh, God, you’re not going to believe this.

Joe: Let me guess. From the Internet.

Kathleen: Yes.

Joe: You’ve got mail.

Kathleen: Yes.

Joe: Three very powerful words.

Kathleen: Yes.

Kathleen Kelly(Shopgirl – Her mail ID) an owner of a children book store “Around the Corner”. Her business is in danger as the biggest retail chain of Books “FOX” group is coming just next to her shop. They even use the phrase just around the corner *to give location of their store.

She hates the man who runs the business, Joe Fox (NY 152 – His email ID). When they bump on to each other they just burp out anger. She is very upset with him and this guy hates her. He finds her beautiful but still. He hates her.

Her stores reached nadir when FOX store becomes operational. She is missing her mother for advice and has no clue what to do? She seeks help from her e-mail friend “NY 152”. He tells her “to go to the Mattresses”. She declares fight against Joe. All the coverage in TV, newspaper doesn’t help her to breathe life into her business. Nothing is working out. she asks NY152 to meet her. He agrees. But when Joe sees Kathleen as *shopgirl * he is stunned and decides not to meet her.

But then he cant stop himself. in his own words  she is the most adorable thing happen to him till date…If things are fine he will marry her…He hesitates. So he still meets her and she literally belts him with words. She is happy that she said exactly what she wanted but feels terrible as that’s not her nature. She thinks NY 152 stood her up but cant herself and writes a mail to him saying she will wait for his mail.

Joe gets into action.breaks up with his irritating girlfriend and a nice talk with his Casanova dad makes him realize what he exactly wants from his life. He meets Kathleen and then.love finds its way out…

A very simple love story but it gives lot insights about our lives also. Seeing Kathleen and Joe in unwanted relations you also ponder on those aspects of your own life when you made compromises. The way they go after their love of life makes you realize what is needed for you to be happy.

The way Joe realizes seating in the elevator that the lady he is with…. He doesn’t relate at all… and the woman he loves… She is not with him.and same with Kathleen… When Frank asks her “Is thr is any one?” she say… “No.But there is dream of someone”

Hanks is at his Best! He takes his character, ”Joe”, to a complete new level. He is smart; energetic but also shrewd in the movie but when he talks to Shopgirl he is very sensitive and very caring. His depiction about his great american family…just awesome! His relationship with his girlfriend which he hates but keeps it going as many of us do. A relationship which is not required but its their as a long lasting habit. So true and closer to life…

Meg Ryan makes character of Kathleen so true and almost like a girl next door. She has a perfect life. She reacts in a way a normal human being will reach when your most precious thing is stolen or lost… Her fight and her struggle to get her bookshop back on track… Her pride stopping her from taking advice. The way she tells NY152 that she had a store when they have said no personal details. A very very true to life character. With all fragrance of innocence.

When she sees Joe in the last scene and says “I wanted it to be you so badly…” gives a glimpse of conflict she is going through for Joe and NY152.

Other characters live Franck, Birdie and also well written. The kids in the movie are also very cute and they are very imp part of the movie. Kathleen’s store people are also very well narrated. They support the entire script and they are essential also. The Joe’s friend, Kevin,  who first sees Kathleen as Shopgirl and the way he tells it to Joe was just awesome.
