After the blockbuster and most loved’You’re the password to my life’, Mr. Sudeep Nagarkar is back with his 6th work in writing titled’You’re trending in my dreams’. After the big success and excellent positive response of the earlier sudeep’s works, the readers and even me, expected a lot from’You’re trending in my dreams’. But the outcome of it being a huge let down. There are times when the most anticipated one of your reads becomes one of your worst reads. And’You’re trending in my dreams surely comes in the category of those.
The Book tells a fable of four friends who become roommates in course of time as the book progresses. Malvika, who comes to Mumbai to settle in her Fashion Designing dreams meets up with Ahana and then become roommates. Further joins the two, Varun who has his reasons of not so well being with his father to be an introvert. Then comes Garima, who joins the gang. She has her past haunting her in the most dark way possible.
Well, the base concept of the story being pretty decent, it doesn’t represent anything new considering Mr. Sudeep’s earlier works. Narrated in an above average language, the book does not tick the mark of being a’Sudeep Nagarkar’ book. The plot progresses with Varun and Malvika falling for each other and Garima finally facing her dark past. Led by a decent end, the book devastates and shatter’s reader’s expectations from Sudeep Nagarkar. The pace being too slow, this book makes the reader to doze off at times.
It won’t matter missing out on this one. I found this as an’above average read’.
