After going through all the reviews here I have to say that I’m not alone here... I migrated to Iqara (You telecom) after a recommendation from my friend. The fact that they give a static IP address also made me to look forward for it. I got myself 192Kbps speed with unlimited download as I download things frequently.
Initial days were just like HoneyMoon... went fine.. prompt installation and a good connection speed. Then as months went by problems started cropping up.. Every now and then the connection would get disconnected. initially I wouldn’t take it that much seriously as the download speed was gud and I was happy abt it. But gradually the net speed also went down. After the complaining numerous times to the customer service there was no end result to this and the connection still continues to 12-15KBps! less than half of what is promised! (192 Kbps that works out to atleast 24 KBps).
What made me drive to the extreme is the Customer Service. I would say even a Government official also wouldn’t behave in that way!
From the last 15 days or so... i’m frequently getting disconnected. Each time I call up, the only response I get is the case is assigned to the engineer and they will resolve the issue.
Last night when I called up the Customer Service and asked to escalate the call to a Supervisor/Manger... the call was abruptly ended....(there was no response from that side and after waiting for over 5 mins I had to disconnect).
The field engineers here in Bangalore are a step ahead when it comes to customer service. Their office is hardly few minutes of walk from my home. Yet they take almost one day to reach my home and check my modem! And when they do come.. they just have a look at the modem, switch it off and switch on again and then they say the wires needs to be checked and that’s it, you will never see them again.... not atleast for another 2-3 days unless you call repeatedly to the call center and shout at them.
The only reason for me to be still with You Telecom is the Static IP provided. Which though is not much use for me as now. I would rather spend another 2k for static IP from another ISP then continuing with You telecom
It’s high time that the management gets into act and provide the kind of service that is promises.... else I don’t think the company would last for long in India
