Yu yureka, since its launch had been a contender for budget phones in india. The device itselfs promises great hardware supported by cyanogen os, but unfortunately fails in most aspects to deliver.
- Processor: snapdragon 615 coupled with 2 gb ram feels inadequate and underpowered. This is mainly bcs of the size of the display( 5.5inches), and the poor optimization of its hardware and software. It lags in day to day usage especially when multitasking and have a tendency to restart thus, completely defeating the purpose of a smartphone.
The phone heats up abnormally even for simple tasks because the processor has to overwork just to keep tge device and its processes running.
Gaming also has a bit of lag and resource hungry games like asphalt 8 can drain the device of its juice very quickly.
Performance cud have been much better if cyanogen wud hv worked on the optimization of this device.
Battery: it houses a 2500 mah battery. The battery drains very fast especially because of the 1080p display and I was abke to get only 3.5 hours screen on time which is very disappointing.
Camera: surprisingly though, yu yureka has a decent camera both the backfacing 13 mp and the front facing 5 mp. Both the camera comes with optical image stabilization for steady shots and clicks decent pictures in standard conditions. However, low light photography can be a little grainy. Shooting in hdr mode consumes a lot of battery and sometimes underperforms.
Ram: 2 gb ram feels inadequate, mainly because tge cyanogen mod is buggy and the processor is underpowered.
Network & Connectivity: it houses all standard connectivity options like wifi, bluetooth, etc. It is a dual sim phone and both sim supports 4g lte. However, while making calls, ive noticed lags and sometimes tge device did reboot and it also heats up abnormally on prolonged usage for calls.
Verdict: overall, its a decent try to provide budget users with decent specs, but fails on most aspects to deliver. Try for alterbate options available in tge market at the same price.
