Don’t Chicken Out of Healthy Habits Just today I read that * Cooking helps you feel like you have more control of not only your caloric intake but also your general health*(Clay Routledge, Ph.D. of Psychology Today). Due to various factors of health and economics, I prefer to cook and eat at home. Usually, my husband and I end up in great appreciation of our own efforts at cooking Fast Foods or other dishes at home.
Protein for Work-Outs Though we have left the gym as we’d like a change and, also, during monsoon, it is not possible go to the gym regularly, we both work out at home. If you do weights and other strenuous exercise, diet is important for the goals of muscle building and so that the workout does not drain your body’s nutrition.
It was while we used the gym that we’d often pick up packaged burgers and such from nearby shops so that we could have a quick, easy, protein dinner post-gym. As I love burgers, at least once a week, we’d buy ready made frozen burger patties. We usually took the most popular brand(Venkys). But I like to try new things.
Real Good and Yummy Real Good Yummiez Chicken Burger Patty is the right size for us compared to the patties of the other brand. It is quite slim and not too big. I’m afraid I threw the empty packet out and so I can’t tell you about the ingredients. I cant compare the taste but maybe this one is more bland?
Soya Scare? I’m not fond of the use of soya in all kinds of products. I would prefer to only have anything made of soya in its traditional way and prepared by those who have used it traditionally. I do not like the taste and I feel more apprehensive about its side effects than I do about the fear what goes into our box-bred chickens. I find soya is added to many non-veg ready made packaged products. I wish they would stop that.
Burger Assembly! *Deep fry the frozen Real Good Yummiez Chicken Burger Patty in oil until it is golden brown. Take care not to thaw the Real Good Yummiez Chicken Burger Patty before you fry, since that may cause the breadcrumbs to fall off, * says the website. We add about a Tbsp of oil to the frying pan and cook the patty on both sides for some minutes.
While this is being done, we lightly toast the burger buns which we cut in half(I hope you know how to do that!).
Apply some Mayo on the buns(I put lots!), some mustard if you like that, some slices of tomato, onion, cucumber and a few leaves of lettuce(optional). Serve with ketchup.
Delightfully Messy Meal Serve with lots of tissues as it gets all over the chin and face!
