Lal .. Lal .. Lal ..

.. Lallan ? is driving with Babloo in the heat of traffic in Hoogly Bridge, talking about his wife and women in general .. at the same time his eyes are fixed on a man ..Michael who is driving his bike and is making unexpected stops, giving a lift to another guy ..Arjun on the bridge and is taking a detour !. Lallan is taken aback, flushed in the face and filled with anxiety, he races ahead.. overtakes the bike and Shoots micheal .. three times !!!

This is the first scene of Yuva which has been filmed in the similar lines of the Tarantino film ?Traffic? , this shot introduces all the characters and the story of each of the characters unfold .. all leading to the first scene which is repeated three times to give the essence of the incident.

Youth are the essence of any nation and our nation is governed by politicians who follow politics (???). The only way the system can be cleansed is by clear thinking and educated youth who can forge ahead to make the country better to live in ?thinks Micheal.

Born in the streets, money is all on his mind, he pays no heed to the kind of work he is offered ? all he wants is to become rich, powerful ! His wife doesn?t think so ?and they have constant arguments, they fight , they hit .. they make up ! This is Lallan.

An engineering degree under is belt, Arjun keeps looking skywards ..at all the flights going to the USA to do his masters over there. He meets up with Meera, at the discotheque and they play around ? in the beaches.. there is one problem though ..she is engaged to be married to someone else.

Prosenjit is the local politician who doesn?t want the youth to take over the current system, as he himself will be cleansed along with it.

The master is back this time and so is the art of innovative film making, brilliant camerawork, spell bounding action sequences, exhilarating music and the kind that makes a brilliant movie. Oranges and apples cant be compared and so cant two movies with different themes, different actors even if its made by a common director. Each work of art must be appreciated on its own merit .. its difficult to achieve a Six Sigma in Film making and there are bound to be errors, missing links and the like. View Mani?s latest effort for its own positives rather than comparing it with his earlier masterpieces.

My personal judgment on a movie is always based on the number of times I check the time in the wrist watch, while watching Yuva, it was none ?

Take a break from films that are all about loving ? and protagonists who take quarter of an hour to die from a terminal illness ? Reality bites and so does Mani?s Film .. Since Main hoon naa is fixed for Filmfare I hope Abhishek gets some other deserving award for his remarkable performance as Lallan. Playfulness, arrogance, darker side, weeping in a movie theatre are the range of emotions performed with élan .. Here is an actor who deserves sensible roles.

Ajay as Micheal is a trifle old for a College student but as always acts upto the mark, Vivek as Arjun is his usual self and a natural, Kareena as Meera looks beautiful on screen and forgets hamming for a while, Rani is marvelous, Esha deol meets the expectations and Om Puri as Prosenjit is what he is ? stupendous .. with a Bangla accent et al !!!

Don?t go by what the print and E Tabloids say .. go watch Yuva and make your own judgement ?an Intelligent movie by an intelligent Film maker !!!
