Like most of Indians of my age, hindi cinema is my favourite pastime, and I have seen Karz, Vidhata, Hero, Meri Jung, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal, of which Saudagar and Khalnayak were very ordinary.
But we always waited for a movie from Subhash Ghai, lavish sets and outdoors, strong story line, good music, and great performances, from Rishi Kapoor, Naseeruddin, Dileep Kumar and Anil Kapur, u were the one who could make Jackie Shroff act....
But then either u became overconfident ar u lost your touch Saudagar and Khalnayak were ordinary, Taal and Pardes, though good, didnt match your earlier films(compare karz, karma, vidhata), still good music and starpower pulled them through the box-office.
I thankfully, missed Trimurti, Kisna and Yaadein.
But I just returned after seeing Yuvraaj
Mr Ghai, its a khichdi of all your formulas put together, but not blended and cooked properly. Your growth and innovation stopped 10 years back after Pardes, but indian cinegoer continues to grow and evolve.
You have failed to exploit talents like Gulzar and A R Rehmaan, compare ur results with Guru and Dil Se songs when they teamed up earlier
Like Congress party u too think that masses are fool. They will lap up any movie, packed with expensive foreign locales, group dances and exaggerated performances, senior cadiologist, dancing foolishly after treating a patient... sudden change of hearts, senior and experienced lawyer, Mithun, sports a pony tail. and whole family aping Anil Kapoor, to keep him in good humour, too exaggerated.Mastam-Mastam situation copied as it is from Ram-Lakhan,
Ghai Sahib, u are old now and have run short of ideas, pls retire and hire young people to direct movies like Yash Chopra does, you have tried it in Joggers Park
