ROD
A Romantic Saga With Comedy of Errors

The Story:

A romantic drama set in a small town with lovable characters that are highly likable. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke revolves around a married couple who love each other and have been happily living and enjoying their married life. Vicky Kaushal who plays the character of Kapil Dubey who is married to Saumya Chawla Dubey played by Sara Ali Khan is a couple who are on the verge of experimenting with something new in their marriage. The reel drama beings when Sara Ali Khan is frustrated by her mother-in-law and her everyday taunts. The film also lingers around the life of these two couples who are looking to move out of the joint family they have been staying with.

The Review:

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a great take on how a married couple has to adjust their life in a joint family. Filmmaker, Laxman Utekar has tried his best to showcase the real struggles of how people have to adjust to a joint family, especially when they are newly married. It is for the first time that Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan have come together for a film. Their on-screen chemistry is very likable and they definitely have managed to charm the moviegoers. Vicky Kaushal who is known for his on-screen versatility has yet again not disappointed but rose to the occasion of giving a splendid on-screen performance. While on the other hand, Sara Ali Khan who is a bubbly person on-screen as well as off-screen looked to be fading away a bit with her character and her performance.

The intention behind the film has been great but the execution looks a bit shabby and dragged. The storyline could be a bit better as the topic and the plot is very relevant and relatable. The film has some good songs which are groovy and will surely be stuck in your head for quite some time even after leaving the cinema hall. One of the most commendable parts of this film is the costume designs and the bright colors that the entire team has used.

For me personally, Vicky Kaushal has a brighter side to his character as he manages to be versatile in every aspect of his role and acting. There are a few times where the film seems to be a bit dragged and that is where you might feel bored or confused as to what is going on. Not to forget that the film has some witty punches that will definitely leave you in laughter splits every now and then. The background score used in this film is also very catchy as the songs will surely make you feel good. I would say that Laxman Utekar’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is not a great film but definitely is a one-time watch.

What Works for Zara Hatke Zara Bachke:

Vicky and Sara Ali Khan’s lovable on-screen jodi is something to look forward to. The film also has some good romantic songs that will get you grooving.

All-in-All:

The film could get a bit boring and you might feel like it has been dragged but if you are someone who loves Bollywood romantic drama, you should definitely watch it for Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s on-screen chemistry and brilliant performance as a married couple.
