DTH/DishTV

Like any other city dwellers we too were fed up of the ’’Local Cablewalas’’ and their hauty behaviour. Soaring subscription rates, Frequent Blackouts, Absolute Lack of Customer Service made me look toward the state of the art set-top based Direct to home fare.. I choose DishTV as they seemed to be the only option.. but later found that others too are in the race Hathway, Sony ...

The technology used is simple - Catch the signal relayed by the Sats directly using our Coded Settop box. The box has the coded information of Channels we subscribe to and can be customized.

Though the arrangement rids you of the the arrogant cablewallas, there is still a lot more needed. To know that not all channels can be got was a shock. As I subscribed to DishTV offered by ’’Z’’ Star and Sony fare is not yet available. Though I was told talks are on to get them on to the list. If this happens it will be great.

Reception Quality is simply superb and DVD quality. However note that like any DVD the Volume is very low..

Subscrition is moderately priced with an initial basket of regional and national channels and lots of channels to choose from. It also offers many international channels to the subscribers...

So if you are stuck to a particular Channel then hold on till you get all the major players to team up..

I would only presume this service would slowly improve as time goes by and offer Indian Cable Subscribers World Class Fare. The Value Added Service again depends on the Service Provider.

In Western countries one can get internet on the same Dish...If that happens that would be awesome!!
