We had been using several different online streaming services. And since few shows were exclusive to Zee platform we wanted to try them as well.
Quickly signed up for a subscription and tried to watch shows & movies.
Interestingly, the videos in non-premium category would load quite fast and we were able to get an acceptable online viewing experience. However, right after making payment and trying to watch premium stuff, we realized the platform had serious technical issues. Its just not capable of streaming on demand at all. Even when left in Auto and seeing pathetic bit-rate, it would keep stopping to buffer.
Besides that we tried to sort the movies by language, and frankly that was another nightmare on its own. Am guessing they’re using a content tagging system where its not very well designed for fast-fluid user experience. The same language appears multiple times, making us realize they must be having issue with data quality that led to such obvious poor content classification.
As of now, really frustrated with the streaming thing and the Movie Filter thing just shows how pathetic their attention to tech details is.
Since these are meant to be on demand platform, its really important that people are actually able to watch something after paying for it, which seems impossible right now.
