I stay in jeevan bhima nagar and could not get connection with all the better known isp providers.
Bsnl and airtel had ports full. I found zeenext and price, though slightly higher than bsnl/airtel was still affordable. they provide n/w connection through a wire cable which they connect on top of the buildings. It was ok for me except that service was very bad and most of the time delayed. but this was all bearable.
They give service to franchises and our service person was hardly contactable on phone and i’d have to go through customer support (who’ll tell me to call him directly again!). Once while my laptop was on, I heard some sound and my laptop switched off, I restarted it but network conn was gone. I thought it may be some outage so let;s wait for few hrs before calling customer care.but within a hr I got a call from the service person asking if the n/w conn is working!!
He told me that he needs to fix some small thing in the hub he had put on the building top. he came promptly and fixed it but I still didn’t get the network and then I realized that network card was gone and also the sound card. I was surprised, I called the service person and customer care and they say it is not possible thru the cable. I talked to my friends and also searched on the internet if it has happened to others. I found few links , one of them is below. there was one more with the pictures of burnt motherboard, which i’m not able to find now.
please beware of all such internet through cable connections. I now use a data card.
