In 2016, I was looking to rent out an apartment. I came across this property rental start up called’Zenify’. Essentially it is a middle man between the owner and the tenant.
Sadly there were no reviews of it at the time since it had just started its business in the market.
I rented a 2 BHK in Whitefield through Zenify, For which I gave a deposit of 82500/- INR.
I decided to move out after 11 months of stay in this property. As per the agreement, An associate from Zenify came and inspected the flat for the damages and made notes and left.
After a couple of days, I got a repair quote from Zenify which was completely over quoted and was absurd. To top it all, they had added service tax and VAT(12 n 14%) on the repair quote which was being deducted from my security deposit!(what? o.O)
Around 15 days after I vacated the flat, I received 50000/- INR of the deposit amount. I was told that the rest would be given after a complete inspection of the flat.
After 10 odd days, I get one more repair quote with few more deductions. This time it was service charges for all the appliances that owner had provided like Fridge, Washing machine, Microwave and even a Gas stove. They had even added an additional 2000 INR charge to repair the Microwave, Which was in a perfect working condition when I left the property.
They have deducted around 30, 000 INR from my deposit amount in the name of repair and service charges.
Anyone reading this post, DO NOT consider this fraudster company for property rentals. I hope someone takes action on their cheap revenue model which is cheating people.
