Aug 2007-Got the 10 litre model after an impressive demo at home by the salesperson in sep-2006. Before purification, the water quality reading was 880 PPM, after purification with the demo kit, the water quality reading was 45-60 PPM.
Till date, the unit at home has produced the same quality of purified water. If there are 10 litres of purified water in the unit, you to get 7 liters of purified water in 1 instance. In our experience, for 10 litres of purified water, the impure water that gets let out during the purification process is approximately 30 litres (I guess the Philips water purifier ad points this out).
After 1 year the standard warrantly/free service expires, the comprehensive AMC (annual maintenance contract) costs 4000 rupees, this is expensive. There are 4 filters and the service guy who came in for the last visit has assessed that 2 filters of the 4 are weak. If you dont go in for the AMC each service visit costs RS300+spares cost (which is unknown at this point of time)
Overall- would not recommend this to a friend of mine.
