I bought a ZeroB prestine water purifier(RO) from Ion Exchange. I paid around Rs 15k for this product and I was told that being the premium product, you would not require to invest much on the maintenance. To my dismay, from the second year onwards, the AMC was costing me around Rs 4000/-, which further escalated to~Rs 5000/- . The number of service visits during the AMC period reduced from 4 to 3. It was also observed that, if I complain about the performance, the engineer would visit and attend the problem(just only the problem) and they count this as a free visit. I voiced the same to their India service head and I did not get any favourable reply.
Recently when I wanted to renew the AMC, as Ive no choice, the Bangalore team did not respond to my requests. I raised a official request through their India Call center for which I got a call back the very next day, dictating terms to me. The conditions are that: The parts would be replaced only once. If there is any challenge, the second time the parts costs to be paid by me. The service engineer would only visit 3 times in a year. There is no assurance for the service.
Im confused that:
What is the purpose of having an AMC, if there is no assurance?
How do I know that when a part to be replaced?
What is the guarantee that the spares replaced would not fail?
Inspite of me compromising, the Bangalore service team did not come to pick up the cheque from me. This shows that, if you voice your concerns, they would avoid you. Also some of the RO purifiers are on sunset mode and ion Exchange does not wish to renew the AMCs.
Try and avoid ion Exchange for a better experience.
