I had the Area Sales Manager come home to explain their products to me. He was selling his " most popular" product. And the "best one" - Their "SOLAR" water heater. I couldnt figure out how Solar energy was used to purify the water. I asked him and he kept repeating what he said- That this is a 6 stage solar water purifier. Would it work in the rains? Yes it would he said.
It just needed a tube light. Despite racking my brains I wasnt able to figure out what the Sun did in the purifier. I had narrowed down to Kent Maxx, Pureit Marvella and Zero B Solar. ( Aquaguard does not have a similar product in the same price bracket). To do my bit to save the environment I decided on the Zero B Solar. :-)
And when they came to install the unit home I again asked them about the Solar function. Same answer. Some intelligence function and all that. After the unit came up on the wall, I realized what the sun did. It powered a cell that would light two indicator lamps. That is all. I felt like a fool now.
This was mis-selling. At least I wasnt getting what I thought I would be getting. I told them so. I asked them if the indicator lamps were powered by AA cells would they name the model "AA Battery Water Purifier"?
If you chose to buy the Zero B Solar, please be clear that the solar power is only to power two indicator lamps. Dont let the solar tag tug at your alternative energy heart strings.
