I am just back from a short break to Zest Big beach pondicherry. As the name suggests it is big in every aspects. I have heard that there no big resorts as such in and around pondy and if you are planning to take one I would suggest to go for it. I was impressed by the services offered by the very friendly team over there.
The resort is situated in a very nice place and if you are planning for a short trip to pondy with your family this is the ideal place for it.
The disappointment only comes in the choices of food, neither it suits the price tag( expensive) nor it is great. The buffet lunch has very little to choose if you are a non-veg( I fall under this category).
The other comes in the very limited indoor games activities. They do not have a pool table, or the table tennis. Though they have a fuse ball table it is occupied most of the time. Also if you are in the midst of a group( big company teams) then you feel left alone as the guys are mostly occupied with the bigger groups and u will not get a chance to play any of other outdoor games as well (cause it will be given to the bigger teams) . Also they say the activity room is till 9 but it was closed due to games organized for big groups.
Also the only service slippage is the newspaper which I have asked them in the morning 7:30 and it came only after 10:30. Also be prepared for frequent power interruptions due to which you will not be able to view cable tv.
All in all, I enjoyed the trip very much and it is a nice romantic place as well with your loved ones. I will recommend this place only for short breaks and leisure as u need to travel to pondy 15 kms for other sight seeings.. A bit expensive though but I love this place..
