I purchased a Zicom home security system, video recorder and cameras, and video intercom from Zicom. All three products have failed to work properly.They give off false alarms, were poorly installed by Zicom’s service staff, and have been badly serviced since then by Zicom’s service staff. The security system frequently gives off false alarms because the motion detectors and magnetic detectors on the windows and doors were improperly installed. Zicom service people have tried repeatedly, and unsuccessfully, to identify the fault and replace the detectors.
The video system records without problems, but is supposed to overwrite in a loop when the disk fills up. It has never been able to do this successfully, even with Zicom service staff coming and resetting the device several times. When the disk fills up it sets off an ear-splitting alarm which can only be turned off by shutting down the entire system.The user interface is cheap and poorly designed.
These products have been a complete waste. Don’t waste your time and money on zicom!
