The kudos to the putative ground-breaking ’lounge’ music by Strings is, sadly yet again, misplaced. Not only is the movie an inspiration, so is the music.
Among others, ’’Yeh Meri Hai Kahani’’ is a shameless lift from a band called ’6th Sense’. The first number on their album ’Sleepless’ was called ’On a Wing’.
The plagiarism is blatant, starting from the sound of sea gulls at the beginning of the song, to the chords and little instrumental nuances that run through the entire number. Such utter disregard for accountability or crediting when ’inspired’ is inexcusable.
