Zindagi Rocks..... no dude, it just tries....

Hi friends,

Well, I had minimum expectations with this film as I didn’t really happen to like Tanuja’s previous films.... Hollywood rip offs like Dushman, Sangharsh or badly presented stories like Yeh zindagi ka safar and Sur. Though the music of each of the above was hummable.

Zindaggi Rocks(Hope I ve spelt it right), falters on almost all fronts. The most important being screenplay. Had the screenplay been a little more tight, Tanuja could have pulled it off. I think she has the ability to make a good film given a tight screenplay.

Plot:

The plot is based on a mother’s sacrifice for her child. Miss sen, the popstar and Shiny, the doctor fall in love. Sen’s adopted son has a cardiac problem and needs a heart transplant. Thses two lines are enough for any wise person to get the entire story. Thats where the problem lies... The screenplay is so predictable, you feel your time being wasted.

Though I must admit that the last few reels of the movie are above the ordinary and leave an impression but then a few reels cant salvage a whole movie.

Also, the track of Shiny’s wife looks forced and can easily be trimmed off. Also the portion when Shiny tries to approach a old man for heart transplant and his arrest thereafter looks so awkward and out of place.

Performances:

I expected an outstanding performance from Sushmita in this movie being a woman centric movie but I was disappointed bigtime. She hams, she doesn’t quite look like a popstar.... A clear cut case of miscast.

Shiny delivers a decent performance in a badly etched role. His performance is restrained and thats what makes it watchable.

Kim Sharma is irritating. No other words to say about her.

Moushumi Chatterjee in a double role is just about okay. I think her talent has been wasted here.

The child artist is definitely cute and likeable. He is the saving grace of the entire show.

Music:

Music of Zindaggi Rocks which is about a music star should have been absolutely rocking but Anu Malik’s score though decent, doesn’t offer anything to carry home. Its just your regular Bollywood music. No track remains in your memory after the show is over.

Only one thing that goes in favor of Zindagi Rocks is its cinematography. The look of the film is rich and glossy.

Overall, Zindaggi Rocks is a disappointing watch and one wont miss anything if chooses to miss this one.

Comments most awaited.
