ZOOMCAR IS A SCAMSTER AT WORK. THEY ARE FRAUDS.
The car that was given to me was unclean, had major body dents. It looked like it had just been back from a long trip. Zoom car assistant filled up my checklist for me. MY big mistake. I guess he ticked the car to be in a mint condition which was not. I had to travel over 1000 km, so asked him if it been well maintained and serviced. He said it’s in perfect condition. I had my reservations. But guess what, I had traveled over 1000kms to start the trip and I was very excited. I was sure that there wouldn’t be immediate vehicle replacements. I decided to go ahead with the vehicle. I trusted them. BIG MISTAKE.
I had thick white smoke coming from my bonnet 3rd day(700 km since start) into my trip. I stopped and informed ZoomCar. After hours they towed the vehicle back. I had unused miles on my trip and unused fuel in the vehicle. Customer care told they will revert after an internal investigation. I had aged companions with me. Neither did they provide any service nor did they assist us on our way back. I had to hire a private taxi back to my destination all on my own expense.
Two days later I had a shock of my life. I was told that the smoke was due faulty driving. What? Like really? They said their conclusion is based on OEM recommendation. I asked them to share the report, which they refused. There is no transparency. They will unilaterally decide what the issue is and charge you. I was charged Rs 10000 flat. no proof and back up. No one will respond to your queries. Your money down the drain.
Note that the trip had ended prematurely and I had filled excess fuel. Should they not refund or rather adjust the money for this on a pro-rata basis? Customer care was least interested and was rude.
There are a lot of such cases as I am reading through in different forums. So beware. The terms and conditions are shady and more often than not you will accept it without even reading.
I recommend that you not use their services. The hassles you will face after will overshadow the fun you would have had in your trip.
