1st experience got to be my worst experience!

Real Eye Opener for 1st time users:

DATE: 14th - 15th May 2016


This is the first time I had booked a car using Zoom Car and let me tell you the experience was really unacceptable and horrific to say the least!


Let me narrate the sequence of events that happened:




  1. I used the Zoom car app to book a Scorpio and guess what, got charged twice and ended up paying Rs. 18630. When asked for a refund on the same day, they said it would only be processed when I give back the car the next day.




  2. Went to colelct the car from the delivery location and found that car was dirty and not cleaned at all. When asked why is this the case, the representative said that as I had booked the vehicle within an hour of delivery, he did not have the time to clean the vehicle which had not been used since the previous day or user.




  3. As you know its about 47 degree centigrade in Delhi these days and when I tried to switch on the AC, it was not working as it should be(not effective at all). I thought that as the vehicle was standing in the sun and was not switched on, it may take sometime for the AC to be effective. So I took the car and went off for the family trip that I had planned as part of my parent 40th anniversary.






Within an hour, I realized that the AC was not working properly and had called the call centre to report this issue, however they said that as it was a weekend, they did not have another spare car and I would have to bear with this faulty car. I requested them that I have with me 2 senior citizens and also my 3 year old kid who would not be able to tolerate this hot weather without the AC especially when we were on our way out of Delhi.


The representative advised me that they cannot help me with this and can only check to see the fault once I deliver the car back the next day. they had also assured me to give me a compensation for this grievance.


the next day, I took the vehicle to the delivery location and showed the AC issue to their representative who also agreed that the AC was not working at all. With him, I called up the call centre  and spoke to Nidesh who advised me that they would get the vehicle fixed and can offer me 20% discount on my next trip.


Now I fail to understand that after experiencing such a horrific situation with ZoomCar, why would they even think that I would try to use their services again. Not to forgot, I anyway keep receiving offers for 20-30% discounts through mails and SMSes. So they did not even wish to offer a decent compensation or perhaps refund a part payment considering the issues I had gone through.


ZoomCar is not a company that deals with real people and understand their emotions/situations.


I would not recommend this to any of my friends, family or even strangers.
