Zovi.com is a new concept in apparel retailing; that is - its an apparel brand available exclusively online. But it is still new; so basically it is a range of unbranded clothing and accessories for men and women.
Shivering in delhi’s winters (average temperatures of 2-3 degreeg during night), I was searching for sweaters, jackets and pullovers. And I happened to stumble across Zovi. I am a lazy person when it comes to shopping and I prefer online buying anytime. I am awaiting the day when we can buy even soaps, shampoos and other routine things online and have them delivered to our doorsteps :-P
First thing to strike me about Zovi was the website design. It is clean, crisp and informative. The loading time is a little high, because of the flash kind of animations (utterly useless, in my opinion) so many sites apply these days. But it is only for the homepage, the rest of the pages are plain HTML plus lightweight images which helps the performance even on slower connections.
The product range is satisfactory. For both men and women, they have casuals, formals, winter wear and accessories. The website is neatly divided into different sections and it is very easy to find what you are looking for, without using the search button. This, in my opinion, is the most important factor for any e-commerce website. The product information for each item is fairly comprehensive, although they could do well to explain some fashin jargon in these or not use such jargon at all.
The pricing looks slightly on the higher side, for an unbranded apparel. I first bought a T-shirt as a sampling experience. Now, some Rs. 700 for an unbranded T-shirt bought online surely looks on the higher side. But the quality of the materials is good, and after receiving the product I did not feel that I had overpaid much. My second purchase was a wool pullover for Rs. 1000, and the quality was good too.
The payment options are many - cards, bank debit and cash on delivery. There are no glitches during payment process and it has one of the better e-commerce payment gateways that I have seen in India.
The delivery was superfast. On both ocassions, I received the products within 48 hours of making online payment. This is really neat. They are headquartered in Bangalore and my delivery address was in Delhi. Their narrow product range must be helping them in ensuring faster delivery.
Overall, after 2 purchases, I am fairly satisfied with this offering. A 10-15% price reduction across-the- board will make this website irresistible, but even otherwise it is worth a buy.
