Its been 2-3 months since I ordered this modem from snapdeal for about 700 bucks, so I guess its time to write a review. My experience with this data-card so far has been pretty good. The data-card is unlocked for all major Indian ISPs. I’m a frequent traveler, so this comes very handy to me. Until now, I’ve tested the following providers without any issues:
IDEA 3G (Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat)
Vodafone 3G (Karnataka, Maharashtra)
BSNL (Karnataka, Gujarat)
Of course, BSNL gave down-times at Ahmedabad, but thats because of BSNL network being pathetic there, nothing to do with the ZTE modem. To verify, I tested by inserting the BSNL SIM in my android phone and the internet was down there too.
The software too works out of the box on Windows-7. As for Linux platforms, I’ve tested both Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 and it fared well on both. All in all, a handy data-card and I recommend it.
