We bought a Zuari Furniture Wardrobe (2+1 door) with sliding drawers in Hyderabad.
It used to look really classy (but in actuality it is quite fragile). If you dont plan to move the wardrobe its good enough (though still a bit delicate). However If you plan to move it around from one house to another beware!!
We live in rented house and every time we shift it has become more and more fragile inspite of using "authorized assembler" from the Zuari shop.
Im afraid that itll come apart if its pushed around. This after spending Rs 18, 000.
Very good service at time of installation and even initial dismantling charged minimal Rs 250-350 or so.
When we moved to Bangalore and we were in a fix. No distributor/shop of Zuari was ready to re-assemble at less than 1000 Rs.
Called up the main distributors and tried to follow up on phone. In India followup on phone doesnt work. People lie through their teeth and make all kinds of grand promises which never materialize. To top it all theyre quite rude when you call back as per their request. "Why are you wasting my time" seems to be their attitude.
In spite of repeated follow-up calls and emphatic assurances people dont show up stating all kinds of reasons (while trying to fit your easy money job in between bigger contracts). Thats service for you.
Finally found an old man from a Zuari shop who was quite confident he could do it for Rs. 700. Showed up around 9PM and started fitting the JigSaw puzzle of the wardrobe. We ended up telling him what to do and what not to as he couldnt make head-or-tail of it.
At 12 AM (in the night) or so we finally just wanted to get him out of there. We ended up with a ramshackle pack of cards which looked as if it was going to topple at the slightest bump.
The Starry-nakhras of authorized carpenters are really nauseating. Acting as if theyre doing reassembling as a favour to customer who has to shell out min. 1K for shoddy service.
Zuari guys either refuse to do for "Nominal amount" (as stated in the website) or give reasons like "2 people required to assemble"... delay for days and finally after repeated phone calls deign to send a bachha to do "2 peoples job" and still charge the same 1000-1500 Rs. We even have to beg this bachha to come and do the work even after pick-up and drop-off.
Each time it is disassembled/reassembled we keep getting left with "extra" parts!! The best part is for the last 6 months were left with one door which has come off leaving a gaping hole with no way to fix it.
If people ask me on my experience with Zuari: "Keep away from Zuari folks. Theyre more trouble than worth."
