Yeah, you are right when you say that MS is more interested in cross platform development. Lot of features in VS 2005 focus only on such measures. About the Intel Complier, its not a complete compiler in itself, and has dependencies on MS VC++ 6 linker, which hinders its use as you must have VC++ 6 read more...
