Finished around 4000 km and the ride has become smoother / engine still feels as good as new. Getting an average of 14+ km/litre in Andheri traffic with A/C on all the time. Did one trip on the Expressway to Lonavala and back, getting 17 km/litre with A/C on all the time.

I confirmed with Tata (after first servicing) about completion of 'running-in' (at around 1000 km), after which they said that the vehicle can now be run at high speed.
