In our race to get there faster quicker than anyone else we lose sense of the sheer delight that we could experience by valuing others as much as we do ourselves. By making a difference to those around us and more importantly by taking responsibility for our actions and perhaps even if we could as mere mortals be sensitized to everything around us. How much more tranquil it would be if we could derive a sense of ecstasy by pausing, contemplating , reflecting and then acting. By taking pleasure from those nuances of that whiff of cool breeze that blows past, by disengaging ourselves from the fast-paced, self-oriented existence that we lead and by making a significant difference in the lives of those around us. Could we perhaps be more sedate, mind you not complacent, less hasty or rash, or even more patient in our race against time and to value the present moment that is than the one that is to be.
How much more appealing would it be if we could pause, discern not by being judgmental or harsh on others but rather by valuing their opinions as much as we do our own. It could make a world of a difference if only we could be more sensitized to act responsibly rather than expecting others to act on our behalf. The sheer sense of pleasure that one could experience by slowing down that fast paced life and by deriving value out of every second that fleets past could give us far more joy, if only we could be patient enough but not complacent, sensitized enough but not too harsh or judgmental on others and active rather than passive or mere indifferent so that we could contribute a lot more and make a world of a difference in other people's lives as much as would want them to make to ours. The crux is not to be, or merely to exist but rather to live as one capable of discerning, living and acting with as much of a sense of responsibility towards others as we have towards our lives and our concerns.
