Todays life is hectic, full of tensions, leading to problem of hypertension. I have seen young people aged @30 years dying of heart attacks.

Prevention is better than cure, and so I decided to buy a BP monitor.

Digital BP monitors are easy to use, and Omron is a reputed name in this field.
Further, a doctor friend of mine has bought Omron HEM-7200, and on his advice, I decided to buy HEM-7203.

I bought it from Letsbuy.com, receiving it on 23-10-2011.

Product finish is excellent. Display is large.
Memory function records last 30 readings.
This model is with "intellisense" technology. Omron claims that the instrument "senses" your BP as it inflates the cuff that you wrap around your arm. Instrument then inflates only according to the probable BP value, and does not cause the discomfort by over-inflating the cuff.

The most important thing to consider while buying a BP monitor is its accuracy.

Old fashioned, manual monitors with stethoscope are considered benchmark.
So, I decided to check my monitor against the benchmark manual BP instrument of my doctor friend.
We also checked his Omron HEM-7200.

I was happy to see that the results from all the three instruments tallied (they were not EXACTLY similar, but my friend told me that was acceptable).

A very good product to have with you.
But remember, if you find your BP increasing, change your life-style, and control it. Don't just monitor it :)

What made me happier was the fact that I was able to buy it from Letsbuy.com for Rs. 1450/- (with 10% discount on my ICICI bank card), while same item was available for Rs. 2000/- at EBay.
